Revival: Proof-of-Concept Teaser is a two-minute video showcasing the concept for a film based on the Revival comic series. Written by Sarah Fischer and directed by Luke Boyce, the video was released on April 25, 2017, as a production by Shatterglass Films.

Synopsis[]

For one day in rural central Wisconsin, the dead come back to life. Now it's up to Officer Dana Cypress to find the murderer of her undead sister and maintain order in a town separated by ideological differences.[1]

Release[]

Shatterglass Films published the teaser both on YouTube and on Facebook. The Facebook page "Revival Movie," dedicated to "the official feature-film adaptation" of Revival, included the message:[2]

"We are excited to announce that Tim Seeley and Mike Norton's critically-acclaimed Image Comics series, REVIVAL, is being developed as a feature-film by Shatterglass Films and directed by Luke Boyce. We announced the film at C2E2 this weekend with an exclusive proof-of-concept teaser that was leaked this morning. So here is the official teaser. Stay tuned to this page for more news on the film!"

According to Revival co-creator Tim Seeley, there had been discussions with larger film production companies and the television network NBC had shown interest in creating a series based on the comics. However, those projects would have cut Seeley and Mike Norton out of the creative process, and Shatterglass agreed to make it collaborative.[3]

After seven years of no update, Syfy announced Revival as a TV series to debut in their channel in 2025.[4]
