Synopsis[]

TWO GREAT TASTES THAT TASTE REALLY WEIRD TOGETHER! Tony Chu heads to Wisconsin in two all-new original tales by the creative teams of both critically acclaimed titles! A great jumping-on point for readers who've heard how damn good these titles are on their own, and a twisted delight for those already in the know![1]

Plot[]

In an old barn, a vinyl record plays. Six cadavers lay on chairs as a blonde woman dances with a bandaged man.

In her home, Dana readies herself for work while Martha stays with Cooper talking about his comics. Dana tells her sister she is busy but hasn't stopped working on hers. Martha says she isn't worried; the "evidence" is not going anywhere.

Ibrahaim drives Dana and explains they will meet Tony Chu from Food and Drug Administration, who is a cibopath — a "food psychic" — and worked on the H5NI scare using his special abilities. Dana notices Tony is Ibrahaim's pet peeve.

In St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dana, Ibrahaim, and Tony investigate eight empty graves. They notice the recent snowfall covered the evidence from the hand digging. F.D.A. believes they are related to the black market organs that spilled on the highway; while the highest demand is for Reviver blood and flesh, any corpse from the quarantined area is worth money.

Ibrahaim suggests Tony get a psychic read of the snow. Tony eats it, has a vision, then vomits. He says he saw a paper mill, and Dana tells them about the one in Mosinee. She also found about the disinterred bodies that all of them attended the same school in the late 1930s in Knowlton. Ibrahaim recalls a reanimation case of a woman named Barbara taking place there, and her late husband is one of the missing bodies. Tony discusses the motivations for Barbara's crime, and Ibrahaim finds where she lives.

In an assisted living community, a nurse tells Dana, Ibrahaim, and Tony that Barbara missing for twenty-four hours. Dana notices the mud with a fingernail on the door handle. Inside, they find dress patterns and more mud. Tony comes from a vision after ingesting the fingernail about bones and a barn dance. Ibrahaim finds an invitation for a school dance with the address of a farm.

Arriving at the abandoned farm, Dana, Ibrahaim, and Tony find the land now belongs to a paper mill. They hear music coming from inside, where skeletons draped with sewn skin dance. One of them forcefully takes Ibrahaim to dance, and a skinless Barbara attacks Dana. The woman says they just wanted one more dance together and she made everyone new suits and dresses, but she could use some extra "fabric" in different hues.

Tony tells Barbara he is sorry; someone is looking for her and now it found her because they tasted each other. A glowing figure that Tony identifies as Barbara's soul enters her body, and the woman catches on fire. Dana, Ibrahaim, and Tony escape as the fire grows, and Barbara goes back to dancing with her husband's corpse in the burning barn.

Later, Dana, Ibrahaim, and Tony drink at The Pulphouse Pub. Dana leaves for the bathroom, and Ibrahaim tells Tony he did not believe in his abilities before. He says that Dana's sister is a Reviver, and Tony would discover who killed her if he bit her. Tony says maybe he would, but it would also alert her "soul" to her location. He says he lost his sister, Antonelle, and knows what it is like to be angry about a sibling's death; it can make a person let the only things that matter pass them by.

Meanwhile, Martha watches as Cooper finishes his drawing of himself with his mother and aunt.
